We also serve private sector organizations that are looking for ways to bring their products and services to new markets at home and around the world. Whether it involves translating and localizing marketing materials into the target audience’s language and culture, opening doors to conversations with potential new business partners through interpretation, or providing subtitling so that audiovisual materials reach a maximized audience, our nuanced language services will keep your business competitive on a global stage.
President and CEO Luis Gutierrez founded DMI in 1999. A native of Nicaragua, he came to the United States, the proverbial land of opportunities, in 1993. His belief in the American dream was confirmed when he founded Dream Management, Inc. in 1999 to provide passenger transportation and language services. Thanks to its focus on outstanding customer service, the language division within DMI outgrew its capacity and experienced tremendous growth, prompting the launch of Interlingua Services, LLC.
Language Division Manager Carissa Priebe de Cano is a skilled translator and interpreter who has extensive experience in providing legal, medical and educational language services. As Interlingua’s Language Division Manager, she leads the company’s comprehensive language services, including onsite and telephone interpretation, translation, transcription and subtitling. She works with state and federal government clients, as well as corporate, nonprofit and private clients. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a bachelor’s degree in International Business and a master’s degree in Spanish Language & Literature. She is also certified by the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI).
There are incredible opportunities for companies that expand the language they do business in to include more than just English. The Migration Policy Institute’s November 2016 study titled “Language Diversity and English Proficiency in the United States” reported that the number of people residing in the United States who speak a language other than English at home was at 64.7 million and has been rising swiftly. If your company can reach this segment of the U.S. market in a linguistically and culturally sensitive way, you can increase your domestic market share.
In addition, reaching customers in other countries in their native languages and dialects provides unlimited growth potential for your business.
